Freddie Johnson, Sr. was born on October 11, 1946. As a young child, he was educated in the Orleans Parish School System and later received an athletic scholarship to St. Augustine High School. After graduating from St. Augustine, he attended Southern University at New Orleans where he was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
After graduation, Bro Johnson accepted a Sales position with Allstate Insurance Company where he retired after 28 years.
He is the devoted husband of Carmen T. Johnson and the father of Lynn, Freddie Jr., Brent and Dionne. He is also the father-in-law of Angela T. Johnson and the grandfather of Nekiala, Taylor, Jasmine and Freddie, III.
Bro. Johnson accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the First African Baptist Church by Rev. Crispus Gordon.
He is currently a member of The Asia Baptist Church where he diligently serves as the Chairman of the Deacon Board and is a member of the Trustee Board, The Pastor's Aid and Support Club, a member of the Joint and Male Choirs, a devoted Sunday School Teacher, a mentor, friend and servant.
Above all, his greatest accomplishment is his salvation and his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Bro Johnson's motto is "If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain."
